WHAT IS AGRRI?
AGRRI is an industry-wide stakeholder group, whose objectives are to:
| advise stakeholders on establishment of sound research and applications | |
| maintain overview of what is happening in UK and elsewhere | |
| disseminate knowledge of key issues, including database of work undertaken | |
| identify significant gaps in the knowledge base | |
| facilitate co-ordination of research activity across UK rail industry | |
| bring UK and European research into harmony | |
| propose process for establishing and managing additional research portfolio |
The means through which this is achieved includes:
| encouraging and publishing strategic studies | |
| organisation of workshops/seminars on specific research themes | |
| providing a national focus for communication of needs and solutions | |
| encouraging links with groups from outside the railway industry to facilitate technology transfer in either direction | |
| maintaining awareness of needs of all types of railway transportation | |
| providing information on sources of funding | |
| establishing international links |
AGRRI operates primarily through the actions of its members within their own organisations, singly or collectively. Specific initiatives are progressed by means of sub-groups.
Membership is drawn from the various stakeholders in the railway industry
AGRRI Meetings are held monthly, hosted by the Department for Transport
