WHAT IS AGRRI?

AGRRI is an industry-wide stakeholder group, whose objectives are to:

advise stakeholders on establishment of sound research and applications
maintain overview of what is happening in UK and elsewhere
disseminate knowledge of key issues, including database of work undertaken
identify significant gaps in the knowledge base
facilitate co-ordination of research activity across UK rail industry
bring UK and European research into harmony
propose process for establishing and managing additional research portfolio

The means through which this is achieved includes:

encouraging and publishing strategic studies
organisation of workshops/seminars on specific research themes
providing a national focus for communication of needs and solutions
encouraging links with groups from outside the railway industry to facilitate technology transfer in either direction
maintaining awareness of needs of all types of railway transportation
providing information on sources of funding
establishing international links

AGRRI operates primarily through the actions of its members within their own organisations, singly or collectively. Specific initiatives are progressed by means of sub-groups.

Membership is drawn from the various stakeholders in the railway industry

The Secretariat is provided by SRA, who also host the meetings
