INTEGRAIL (Integrated Project)
Objective: To enable a higher level of coordination and cooperation between the key railway processes (infrastructure, vehicles, operations etc), through information sharing, to achieve higher system level performance and optimised usage of resources.
Budget: Euro 22M
UK Representatives: AEA Technology Rail, Bombardier (not just UK), ATOC, University of Birmingham, Heriot-Watt University, Seebyte Ltd and Network Rail are all partners;
Likely Implementation Impact: Candidate standards (esp in Communications); Data protocol specifications; Definition of interfaces for data exchange; Other impacts will emerge once project is underway.
Current Situation: Project started Jan 05.
MODURBAN
Objectives:
- design, development and test of an innovative and open common core system architecture and its key interfaces
- harmonisation of command and control, energy saving and passenger access subsystems
- definition of system architecture for driverless trains
Budget: Euro10.5M
